Stunning Taco Ring Recipe

Here is a family favorite recipe for you today! We like to call them Taco Rings but you can re-name them however you like. They are a great, easy meal and the best part is, you can easily make enough to feed a small family or a crowd!

Ingredients:

2 packages Cressant Rolls
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Meat*
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Cheese
4 tsp. Taco Seasoning
Salt to taste
Optional:
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Avocado
Cilantro
Honeyville Powdered Sour Cream
Salsa

Directions:

Re-hydrate meat and cheese according to package instructions. Layer cressant rolls on a baking sheet to form a circle. Once meat is re-hydrated stir in taco seasoning and salt to taste. Spoon meat onto the longer end of cressant rolls, spoon cheese onto meat, leaving the top of the cressant roll (top of triangle) free of meat/cheese so that you can cover it. Flip tops of cressant roll over mixture and tuck in the ends. Bake according to package instructions. Cut up taco toppings and display in the middle once baked.

See below for pictures. A visual is always helpful!

*I used 1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Chicken and 1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Ground Beef. Half the ring was chicken, other half ground beef.

Scrambled eggs using powdered eggs

Scrambled Freeze Dried Eggs

Soak desired dehydrated/freeze dried ingredients (onions, peppers, mushrooms, chives, potatoes etc.) in hot water before hand

8 Tbsp egg powder
1 cup water
4 Tbsp powdered milk
Canned bacon or other meat diced - if desired
Stir all ingredients together. Melt butter or oil in pan and scramble eggs until done.

This goes great with the whole wheat biscuits and some gravy for a hearty healthy breakfast.

A good and easy gravy sauce can be made with this recipe:

3 Tbsp flour mixed with 1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt or part of a crumbled boullion cube to taste
1 Tbsp butter or left over meat drippings to taste

Mix everything together except the fat.
Cook over medium heat until thick.
Add the fat and stir until smooth and creamy
